07 Westminster Bridge / Big Ben

If you took the No 11 Bus the bus stop is on Parliament Street.

Walk back to Parliament Square (The green in front of Parliament) and turn left onto Bridge street walking past Big Ben to Westminster Bridge.

07A Statue of Boadicea  North side Westminster bridge 79:44

On the Westminster side of the Bridge is a statue of Queen Boradicea in her chariot. This is one of the background scenes in the concert.   Queen Boadicea was a famous Briton chief  who organized a rebellion against the Romans in AD 60 (or 61).  It is rumored that her chariot had swords on the wheels, but there are none on this statue. She is also losing the fight against the crowd of tourists taking pictures of the Big Ben clock tower. For the wiki entry on Boadicea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boudica

07B Houses of Parliament/ Big Ben from Westminster Bridge 61:38

The classic film/TV establishing shot to show you that you are in London is a red bus going over Westminster bridge, with the Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben clock tower in the background.

Actually there was so many people on the bridge that day I had to stand on the road to take a picture.

07C Westminster Bridge Lion County Hall 81:33

Where Sawako hails the taxi at the end of the concert, by the Lion statue on the South side of Westminster Bridge next to County hall. County Hall was the home of the London County Council and then The Greater London Council until abolished by Margarete Thatcher.  It is now home to many amusement events including the London Aquarium.

07D Steps from Westminster Bridge County Hall 61:47

Take the steps down from Westminster Bridge next to County Hall

As it was ultra packed I couldn't get the same angle. You can see the base of the Lion statue on the left at the top of the stairs.
